Antoon Dierick

Antoon holds a law degree from the University of Ghent (2008) and an additional Master's degree in business law from the same university (2009).

He started as a trainee at MDP (Ghent) in 2009, and between 2010 and 2017 he worked as a senior lawyer in an international law firm (Brussels). He then worked for three years as Chief Legal Officer in an international IT company of which he directly advised the board of directors and management.

The latter experience gives Antoon a thorough expertise and understanding of internal business processes and results in a very pragmatic approach with attention to the various stakeholders in a company.

Antoon has unique experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of IT, privacy and other commercial agreements, in business-focused advisory work, in dispute prevention and resolution and in mergers and acquistions in his focus-sectors.

Antoon is the author of several contributions on IT, data & privacy and gambling, and regularly lectures on these topics (see below).

He is a member of the committee of digitalisation of the OVB (Order of Flemish Bar), a member of a sub-editorial board on IT and IP matters of a well-known legal magazine and he is also a director of VZW iProf, an interprofessional association of lawyers, notaries public and accountants.
